T-Mobile has decent coverage in most rural areas now after having made major roaming agreements with Cingular (including a lot of 850mhz coverage) and other carriers last year.
If you haven't seen their coverage map lately, here it is. The gray is coverage as of last year. The green is new coverage added this year.
