issues with my new 8830

Hi,
I just got my first Blackberry yesterday! so far, so good, althoughI seem to be having issues with my 8830.
1: after pluging in my headphones, I dont seem to have stereo sound...is there an option to have stereo?
2: my contacts sync fine, but for some reason my calander is a bit screwed up...i cant seem to sync from my bb to my outlook...additionally, all my bb appointments are off by a few hours, in comparison to my BB...
Anyone expiriencing these issues?
