I had the same problem after a day of carrying it in my pocket as others have indicated as well. I believe it is some kindof lint or somehthing that is causing the circuitry to make contact and therefore act like it is out of control. Try blowing out the track ball or take the trackball out and clean it out...
I almost traded mine in but then it just stopped acting that way...havent put it in my pocket since
