A friend of mine has the 8110 on O2UK, he's had the GPS working perfectly on several occassions.
Might sound like a stupid question, have you config'd it properly? I found i hadnt actually set it up properly. I.e. first time you use it it has to gather certain data and can take up to 10 minutes.
