Yeah that would work. I guess if it is absolutely imparitive that you have a copy of each sent email somewhere other than on the device you could live with having the situation I described above (I cant stand having emails in my inbox for more than 5 min either so I am bias). But you are right if you Auto BCC to like a work email or something you could still have the sent emails on a desktop and not be spamming yourself with the gmail account.
