Yeah I've used it - most people don't even know it existed.
It's a lot more convenient using that feature than having a call coming in while your phone is tucked away in a pocket or wherever and might accidentally get answered etc - and it also let's ppl that call u often know that you're unavailable immediately w/out having to ring to vm. It's one of the first things I noticed missing when I got my 9700 because I had that profile loaded (xferred from old fone) and it rang! Sucks.
