Just an FYI for anyone else looking for updated GPS info. I just discovered Garmin offiver exactly what I'm looking for. They charge $99 for a lifetime license, but it provides all the featires of a stand alone GPS.

Garmin Mobile® for BlackBerry

It looks like they support just about every model.
