Because Google uses geolocation to determine where you are, and you're browsing through RIM's servers unless you're on a BES. For instance my IP when using the Internet Browser is 216.9.250.6. From samspade.org/t/lookat?a=216.9.250.6 you can see that it's part of a RIM netblock.
