Default Charging trouble with my 8130

Please Login to Remove!

Okay I have a really wierd issue, I have a usb cord plugged into my computer at work that I only use to charge my BB. It worked fine until they installed XP on my system and now every time I plug my BB in I get an error message to the effect of

"Insufficient current for charging. Make sure USB is plugged in and correct drivers installed"

I don't remember the exact wording but it was close to that. Has anyone seen this before?

reinstall desktop manager, and the proper drivers should get installed to charge via USB

Yes, it is common and asked here often. You must have the USB drivers loaded to your PC. When XP was loaded to your PC, I guess they were deleted.

You will get them with loading the device manager of desktop manager.

yea.. BB's are the first one i've seen that require the driver to do USB charging.. probably best to get an extra AC power charger to charge at work - I have the same problem at my gov client.

I haven't searched to find out, but sure it's been answered - is the power requirements special on BB (for the 8100's)? I've got a few AC power-USB connectors from prior gadgets and have hesitated to use them as I was worried that since it needs a driver to charge via USB the power req might be different than standard USB voltage/amps? Guess I could plug that in and see what happens, since the BB seems to have something to protect it from improper voltage/amps?
