This is a very annoying problem and I need some help!

I can't click using the ball. I can physically press it down, but the phone doesn't respond. For a while, it double clicked and then one day it just stopped responding and I have to keep using the enter button on the keypad to get anything done!

I've already tried taking apart the phone and cleaning under the trackball but that doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure what else I can do?

Please, if anyone else has had the same problem on this forum, can you please direct me to the thread or post the solution!

I've never had such problem. Perhaps, you need to bring your BB to the nearest service center to make sure what goes wrong.

thanks... but i hate my local service centre (in malaysia, and they're full of idiots...) so I want to figure it out here before i make my way there...

basically your bb trackball contacts board is broken and need to be replace, just bring it to your blackberry authorized service dept

had the same problem twice already . both times phone was replaced by orange .

You could try replacing the trackball dome, which sits underneath the trackball and this MAY fix the problem. It's a fairly cheap and simple thing to fix, with some good YouTube videos showing how to do it, but then again it may not solve your problem. This is probably the first thing I would try. mine has this problem also of double clicking even if i click the trackball only once. so far it still responds though.
