Default Weird EA behaviour relating to BIS

Please Login to Remove!

Running 4.1.3 for xchange 2003 sp2 on w2k3. Just done a wired switch using DM4.2 from my 8700 to an 8800 4.1.2.43 - not using the swich device wizard just the old way of pluggin in a new device and then it popping "you are using PIN a would you like to change to PIN b", wiggle mouse yada, yada, yada

The wierd thing is then it populated the device with the icons for my BIS services which I found a little strange? I can't say I was watching the process that hard, so it could have been the registration to the mobile network which pushed these icons?

Anyway the upshot of it - whilst I had the icons I didn't have the service....I pinged a few test emails across to my BIS account...no delivery to the device..popped my sim back in the 8700 without EAing and 10 seconds later up popped the BIS emails.

So I guess it's just a word of warning - if you're switiching devices on a user who has BIS accounts, they still need to change their PIN manually on the BIS service, even though it might look like they've been updated on the new device...

Oh yeah you definitely still have to manually change the service... as I found out as my first BIG BES Admin boo boo... my boss gave up her blackberry to the new COO when we were low on them and I didn't realize she had activated BIS... well a few weeks later come to find out he's been getting her personal email...

UGH. Not a good scene.

She just got a 8700g today... I quickly reminded her... change BIS pin! ;)
