Default Funambol for Blackberry 8320 - T-Mobile

Please Login to Remove!

T-Mobile
Blackberry Curve 8320
Funambol 3.0.8
Blackberry 4.2 Core Applications

To download Funambol for the Blackberry 8320, go to
Funambol BlackBerry Plug-in Deployment Funambol BlackBerry Plug-in Deployment

I chose the over the air option, and downloaded Funambol directly to the Blackberry.

Next, configuration. You will need to have an account at http://my.funambol.com

Next go to the Funambol on the Blackberry 8320 and click to configure. In the Funambol configuration.

User: (enter the user name from your my.funambol.com account)
Password: (enter the password from your http://my.funambol.com account)
Server URL: http://my.funambol.com/funambol/ds

Check the appropriate boxes for synchronization.

Gateway APN: wap.voicestream.com
Gateway IP: 216.155.165.50
Gateway Port: 9201

The Gateway APN, IP and Port are specific to T-Mobile

If you receive the error, "synchronization failed. invalid tunnel name" then this means an incorrect Gateway APN and Gateway IP. If you are using T-Mobile, you can use the settings above. For other carriers, you will need to find the Gateway APN & IP.

If you are in the Funambol application, press the scroll ball, and click "Configure." Next, scroll to the bottom, and you will see

Please see the link above for the funambol link for blackberry. You are correct, Blackberry is not in the mobile device list at my.funambol.com

I had this error message

Synchronization failed net.rim.device.cldc.io.waphttp.WAPIOException

In doing a search, I found these two posts related to this error
Web site #1 for net.rim.device.cldc.io.waphttp.WAPIOException
Web site #2 for net.rim.device.cldc.io.waphttp.WAPIOException

The second message, gives the answer, that seems to work

By pure coincidence, I found ANOTHER place to enter my service provider's APN, under Options-->Advanced Options-->TCP whilst playing with some of the settings on my device.

Thinking that it couldn't hurt to try, I entered my service provider's APN here ("telstra.internet", for any Telstra Australia customers out there), then removed ALL of APN settings in Funambol - Gateway APN, Gateway IP and Gateway Port.
For T-Mobile in the USA, in the TCP settings, I entered the T-Mobile APN from the first post in this section. I left the username and password in TCP blank. I tried deleting the APN settings from the Funambol Configuration, however this caused the synchronization to fail. By leaving the APN settings for T-Mobile in the Funambol configuration, and setting the APN in TCP, the synchronization appears to be working.
