Not just the 2nd Amendment. Democratic Senator Byrd (longest serving Senator in history) sent a letter to the President saying the newly created Czars that Obama has appointed xxx8220;can threaten the Constitutional system of checks and balances. At the worst, White House staff have taken direction and control of programmatic areas that are the statutory responsibility of Senate-confirmed officials.xxx8221;

He didn't seem to mention moving control of the census from the Department of Commerce to the White House, but that would seem to fall under this as well. Hardly a peep in the media when Obama did that.

Also the Senate just approved giving a Representative to Washington DC. Problem is, the Constitution limits House Representation to States, which is why they don't have one or Senators. I'm a product of public schools, but even I know Congress can't just override the Constitution. Modification is left to the states.

I think they forgot to CC: you on the memo. For Democrats, tax cheating is to be called an unintentional oversight. Klan membership is to be called a youthful indiscretion.

Yes, Republicans are known for their popularity with African Americans.

Ah, it didn't take long for you crap in this thread.

Yes, Republicans are known for for their leadership in this area. From Abraham Lincoln's actions, to a hundred years later when it took Republican US Senator Everett Dirksen to break the deadlock to pass the Civil Rights Act.

Study history, not the Democratic mantra.

I knew JSanders would chime in because he believes the South to be an example of great race relations.
I know History but guess what, those Lincoln times are a longtime ago. Do you think that passing the Civil Rights Act just wiped the slate for those Southern African-Americans?
But it is ironic how the Party that freed the slaves cannot get any support from the African-American voters. Wonder why that is?

And as you could guess, I have no issue with banning assault rifles. (to be back on topic) - although I do think other firearms are fine.

Ah but you are wrong... Read into how they want to trample the 2nd ammendment... It's not fully automatic assault weapons as they have been already regulated for decades....

I love how you walk in a room and immediately take the conversation off course to your less-than-educated dribble on this subject. For once, you obviously don't know what you're talking about, and if you knew history (of the parties and of the Democratic pandering to African Americans), you would know exactly why the Republican Party gets very little voting support from them. So if you have to ask, I guess you don't.

But again, that is not the topic of this thread. Thank you to keep it on topic. Can you possibly keep the attention here off of what you want to talk about to what the OP began led with?

The ban ran out in 2004 on semi right? I see no problem with banning them again. They were banned for 10 years and didn't see the weapons industry go under. I see no need for military assault type weapons for public use. I know the second amendment blah blah blah but the 2nd amendment is "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." and it can be interpreted in many ways.

Jsan - I brought it back and then posted back on topic. But i don't remember brining race into the thread, but you can blame that on me its OK.

I think I will retract my statement of condeming gadget. You really are a communist. To take away any right given to the American People is wrong.

And I hate to go back off topic, but do any of you really know any African Americans. I dont know a single one and I have never met one. I have met many black americans

Lunk - Anything paid for by a lobbyist I disregard. NRA being one of the biggest and worst of them all. That goes for any of them, even the Human Society; lobbyists are scum.

dawg, not sure where not allowing assault weapons fits into the Communist theory? care to enlighten me? And Black or African American it doesn't matter I just chose the latter.

Lobbyist had nothing to do with it when it was written in the constitution.

Yes, ill be glad to. first thing the nazis did was take away weapons so the people couldnt rebel. Search history you will find it. Not real hard.
