Default How many blackberry users in your environment?

I'm attempting to get a gauge of the larger BES environments. What are the average BES populations for large environments? Also, how are the environments with 10,000+ users mananged?

Cool 14,000 and still rising

Hi,

We are currently having more then 14,000 devices on two separate infrastructures (12000 + 2000).

However I have the impression, that RIM does not optimize the software for enviroments larger then ca. 3000 devices. It is very difficult to get reliable answers from RIM regarding performance and stability impact - even on TX4.
Additionally in a big company, it is normally impossible to tear down walls for just one solution like BES. RIM mostly does not provide usable instructions for a sensible integration with other infrastructure parts (e.g. firewalls, PKI, Active Directory, PC Software Distribution, Authorizations, ...).
When I first had a look at BES 5, I was just laughing desperately when I realized that RIM expected every user account in Active Directory to be in the same container ...

Greets,
Neo3000

Er, did I read that correctly? ALL user accounts in the same OU? I just upgraded the configuration database in preparation for moving to 5, I hope this isnt true!

I have users in different OUs.

Other than Forest and Domain, OUs are mostly irrelevant to AD,

Not sure where you got this from Neo3000, just upgraded to BES 5.0 and I have users in approx 10 different containers and its working fine.

Feel a bit inadequate now, only 65 users. 1 GroupWise BES server, and I am the only administrator.
