Default BB lost all history of phone records, and emails from Inbox

Please Login to Remove!

One user complained to me that his emails disappeared from his BB, although everything is on his Outlook Inbox. Same for phone history. I have had exact same thing happened to me with my Curve. I've since re-activated the user and he's getting new mails fine since today. Is there a way to get old messages back in his BB? I believe it's not possible but I thought I'd ask to be sure.

Thanks for your reply.

Typical symptom of too low free memory. Check that. Free some up and see if that's the solution. Opinions vary on how much is enough. Perhaps 10 or 12+ MB is recommended, I believe, though others seem to operate fine on far less. Seems to depend on what's running, etc.

You will never get it back to the way it was. This is a now device. You can search the mail box if on 4.5 and have 4.1.6.

Other than reloading or removing/readding there is knot much you can do.

Easy way to verify if it's a low memory situation causing the removal of items on the device:-

(1) BlackBerry response is sluggish
(2) For the removed item, it can still be found on the mail client e.g. Outlook and Lotus Notes.

Note: BES will never initiate removal of items on the device. There is an IT policy to WIPE the handheld in low memory situation though, nowhere I can find one that says remove items to make space.
