Hay everyone,

I've just got a BB Bold for my birthday. This BB is coming from Indonesia and I'm currently living in the Netherlands.

I have got this Bold with no data plan from a carrier in the Netherlands. I'm using prepaid card which is so expensive to use internet with the 3G or GPRS connection. And I prefer browsing internet or instant messaging by using my wifi network at home to 3G or GPRS.

What my problems are just like the other people. But the most of them have data plan. The issues they have are mostly solveable which probably means not for me.

I have 3 questions :

1. I can browse internet on my browser with wi-fi, i wanted to download Windows Live Messenger and some other handy applications like facebook, myspace, hyves, etc. It seemed that i had to first download the appworld. but I cant download appworld. It gave me a notice : Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World.. Which system requirements is needed? How can i Fix this problem?
   
2. Is there no other way to activate the BlackBerry Messenger with no BES or dataplan? >> I have prepaid simcard
   
3. How can i set up my email on my bold without BES? I've got no password and such things.
   
4. If i am planning to subscribe to a simcard provider in the Netherlands with unlimited internet connection(Telfort) but not the official simcard provider exclusive for BlackBerries (vodafone). Can it be called as data plan for my Bold?

1. You cannot download or USE App World, Facebook, WLM, Myspace and most other apps without a Blackberry data plan.
2. No, you need a Blackberry data plan.
3. You would need BIS for personal use, but you cant get BIS without a blackberry data plan.
4. Telfort needs to offer Blackberry data plans in order to get a data plan that works with your Blackberry.

You can browse the internet using wi-fi, but need to download Opera mini to your computer and transfer with DEsktop Manager to your phone.
This is all you can do.

Without BIS or BES you can still use your BB. Just set the APN in Settings. You can get push email, web browsing (BB browser and Opera), use instant messengers, Facebook app etc. Just dont be lazy and use Search button in menu

Yes, simply yes.
Just click on the link in my previous post. Of course you wont get real BB services, but in case you dont want or cannot have BIS or BES, it is satisfactory.
Recomendation:
For push email use Shangmail (the link above), for Facebook use the RIM application (it works with APN, you dont need BIS/BES), for Twitter use TwitterBerry, for instant messaging use Instango, for maps you can use Google Maps or you can use the original BB maps (in case they are "hiden" on your BB just dowload them from http://www.blackberryforums.com/atta...aps_cs_1.2.zip and install with Desktop Manager, for Skype use iSkoot.

You will still need a generic data plan using your steps. Otherwise the OP will have a huge bill.

Sure, but you can get data plan on pre paid card (with some MB limit, but it is usually enough for mailing, chating and some browsing, esp. when you combine it with wi-fi).

It was not really a good choice of gift that my parents gave to me.
It seems that i have to try the shangmail etc. I'm dying with this fact.
