I have a blackberry 8900 and can't seem to surf the net while on the phone is this normal?

i browse and talk all the time.

The 8900 is 2G only.
You can only browse and talk if on a 3G network that supports voice and data at the same.

MidnightRaven is correct.

The 8700 is EDGE (2G) only. One thing at a time, like CDMA.
The 9700 is 3G, which is why randomperson can browse and talk. The devices are different.

Oh, yeah. I had forgotten that EDGE won't allow that.

i use UMA 98% of the time, so i just assumed EDGE would allow multiuse as well.

Sorry for that confusion
