I am so dissapointed with my blackberry curve 8520
i am already on my 3rd one since september. i dont know what i am doing wrong but my battery will not last long at all. i have turned wi-fi off, turned bluetooth off, i have auto on/off set up for night time. i even turn it off while at work and the battery will still not last. what can i do? help please

The most common cause of extremely short battery life with a known good battery is third-party apps left running or set to run in the background that are continually hitting the network for updates. That is the first thing to look at. Even leaving the browser open to an active web page that automatically refreshes could add to the problem.

Open the menu ("blackberry" key to left of trackpad/trackball) and select swith applications. Scroll left and right. Those are running applications. This is a start. However, note that core BlackBerry apps like email, browser, etc never close.

Be aware that there may be installed apps that are set to run in the background when closed that will not show when switching applications. You need to be aware of your apps and how they behave. Go through each one and drill down in the options/preferences/settings and make sure the fully exit when closed or exited.

Also, I took it for granted you either lock the keypad when carrying the handset, or you use a holster. If not, then that's a factor in your short battery life.
