I have a 7210 that was an AT&T and now I am using it on a cingular network. I am having problems with signal strength where I used to never have problems. For example at my house my old phone had 4 bars but the 7210 has either one bar or no bars. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was your old phone tri-band or quad-band? The 7210 is a dual band GSM phone so it could be hit and miss. Try updating the OS to 4.x as well.

The Cingular network frequently has areas of great reception with the 850 Mhz band.

Unfortunately, the 7210 does not have the 850 Mhz frequency channel, so it has to revert to the lower-reception 1900 Mhz band.

Sell the 7210 and get a 7280 or 7290 (or better yet, 8700), and you'll get the same number of bars as your old phone.
