I just received my BB 8707v today, but I will not have it on a BES. How do I change the APN
so I can use my Italian sim card in it and use unlimited data plan there for GPRS/UMTS data?
I haven't found anything about changing APN in the settings... I cannot find any of the applications supposed to be on the phone - messengers, browsers, nothing... How do I activate?

Welcome to BlackBerry Forums.

You *must* have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your SIM card in order to get any data services. GPRS/UMTS data plans do nothing on a BlackBerry.

Well I just found out that I did a bad choice with 8707 because the 8700 has TCP/IP stack support so I can use it for my original purpose.

But you MUST have a BB Data Plan... Not just GPRS...
