Sorry for this stupid question but I have a Sony P910i and I am not used to BB.
I want to use the pearl as a PDA as the P910i and I would like to know if it is possible to receive emails only when I do want (so I go and seach for them) and not automaticaly as soon as they arrive on the pearl.
As well, I would like to know if anyone knows how to unlock a 8100 from SFR.

The major attraction of the BlackBerry is the automate, secure push e-mail. You don't have to ask for the e-mail, it's pushed. There is no way that I know of to change this to "pull" so that you only get e-mail when you request it.

As far as unlocking 8100s, there are some commercial unlockers on these boards, but I don't know if they can unlock 8100s from SFR.

I just switched over from a P910 as well. I have my push e-mail setup, but I don't want every e-mail pushed...that's just crazy. I liked the ability to see all messages in my inbox & selecting the ones I wanted to download. There needs to be something like this for the BB Pearl. I should be able to go into each e-mail folder & have a disregard filters option to see what's there.

My work around is to use the mobile version of Yahoo Mail.
