Default Blackberry Pearl Deletes Everything!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys, we have a number of BlackBerry Pearl's in the office, running off a BES server, which have all worked fine. Recently we purchased another 2 devices, and within a month of them being in use they have both delete all email, all text messages and all call historys. All this information still resides on our server, so it doesnt look like the mail has actually been deleted, but it certainly isnt on the handheld anymore. It has done this to both users multiple times now (but only these 2, no others)
Has anyone else experienced similar problems?
Cheers,
Nick

It'll delete messages and mail automatically if it's push down enough when running out of space.

I appreciate what your saying, and yes it will delete old messages if new ones come through and need the space, but it deletes everything! I have had mine for a long time and i have always had the last couple of weeks mail history on my device, and it certainly hasnt ever deleted my call logs or text messages!
any ideas?

Hm, well this may be whiled but you mail have somehow misclicked delete all prior messages... that would certainly delete everything. Other than that it may just be a corrupt Pearl installation. You said that they were 2 new Pearls probably of the same orgin... there's always a few bad apples in the bunch and sometimes they just have a common source. You could try to install another OS or whipe it and reinstall a fresh one before trying to return it.

They havent hit delete, as its not just email, its mail, call logs, text messages etc all at once.
I have restored one of them which seems to have sorted it short term, but it was a while before the issue appeared originally so im not sure this is the solution

The Pearl (and other BB's too) will do this when available memory runs low. Delete/transfer pics, ringtones off the device onto the PC or an SD card. Remove the battery once a week to clear out the cache. Remove themes that are not used and remove languages that are not used. Also, if you have an SD card to store the pics from the Pearl's camera then go to Media >Pictures >Menu key >Options >Set "Reserved Pictures Memory" to 0Mb. That will free that memory for other use.
