I'm surprised one of you BES Admin's haven't leaked a policy that will fully enable a BB that has been removed from a companies BES. It is rediculious RIM didn't consider this when locking down the device but usually by now some one would have leaked a good policy to Unlocking the Blackberry so it will be possible. We won't tell who did it, just let it slip so I can get by Bluetooth working...

For the good of the community I really hope this leaks soon. You can PM it secretly to me and I will be sure it get's out. I don't know if RIM realizes what it means to have a crippled device that you bought even if second hand. They really need an easier way to restore a device to default once it is no longer on the BES.

Perhaps they need an 800 number you can call, then proove your legitimate ownership and they can tell if you are on a BES or not. If you qualify they will gladly restore your factory default settings. Come on RIM, it's bad advertisement to have a car that will only go 50 mph because the previous owners company didn't want their employees speeding.

Then perhaps RIM should step up and provide a way for a devices owner to get full functionality of the device. No one is asking for a way to defeat company or BES security, we are asking for a way to enable features on non BES devices.

What if you just reload the handheld software? Type the password 10 times incorrectly, or whatever the trick is to remove it from the BES. Then it is all yours to do as you please . . . right?

Wrong; that will not remove an IT Policy.
