Default blackberry cover/case needed?

I am curious if Blackberry (8900 and 9630) is very fragile?

like can it take a 4 foot drop against a marble floor at any angle?

as I'm thinking if I really should get some cover for it (but I don't really to cover it with anything - just the screen)

thank you...

Any expensive piece of hardware will be fragile, and I would die if I dropped my phone on marble floor. :/

I think you should definately get a cover on it, especially if you plan on dropping it, but even a cover won't protect it completely if you are not nice to your device.

I never use covers and rarely use cases or holsters, but I am extremely careful with my phones.

BlackBerry devices are also much more durable than most devices.

I went drinking and bowling with coworkers just after I got my 8520, and dropped it face first onto rocky gravel when getting out of my friends car when going home, it had suprisingly less scratches then I thought it would :P haha. Now that I think about it anyways. Just had two nicks.

But I'd still be careful.

It's not very fragile but no one's going to guarantee anything when you drop a device on a hard surface. If you think you need a case then get a case. If you think you need insurance then get insurance. I use neither though I do have an Invisible Shield full body kit (no impact protection). YMMV.
