Default disable password

Please Login to Remove!

I have the bold and AT&T is my carrier. I can not disable my pasword. The drop down has grayed out that option. There is a very small red padlock that I can't figure out how to remove it.

If the BlackBerry is on a corporate server then there is a policy requiring a password. Nothing you can do about it.

Are you on a company BES, is this a used phone the an ITPolicy left over from a previous owner? Look at Options -> Security Options -> General Settings for a line like:
IT Policy Name: <some policy name>
Last Updated: <date/time>
Time Stamp: <date/time>

Wirelessly posted (8820)

If it is on BES, you need to talk to IT or BES admin.

If it's a used blackberry that has a IT policy from a previous user, you can do something. See blackberryfaq.com (or look for the sticky at the top of one of the forums). Maybe somone will post a link in the meantime. But, what you want to do is overwrite or remove the policy, assuming the blackberry is not on BES.

Fyi, password is a good idea, for a number of reasons.

EDIT here's the link:
