Can some please confirm if the 9900 has the contacts for desktop cradle charging or this can only be charged using USB connector ? Hope it has both otherwise what's the nightline mode on alarm etc.

It does. And the cradles are already available. Part number MAT-41359-001 if we believe the RIM docs that came with both of mine.

Contacts are at the bottom and the tolerance levels to securely hit them for charging or not is low. Make sure it does something when it charges (enter bedside mode/display clock) so you'll get visual confirmation.

It can be easily knocked over. The drop had to be designed rather shallow so not to cover the strategically placed speaker at the bottom.

I bought mine from Verizon. Sprint doesn't have them in stock yet but the cradles for any 99xx model will work.
