I have been having an issue that I thought was related to my bluetooth headset. However, it has nothing to do with the headset, instead if the phone is sitting on my desk it will vibrate and then notify me that it has changed to the vibrate profile. I had it on normal..

Anyone have this same problem or know how to fix it? Evertime this happens I lose certain functionalities in the phone. For instance; when I am typing an email, note or IM I have to hit the alt key and release in order to make one special character or number. Whereas before I could hold down the key and keep typing special characters and numbers..

The only way to fix it is to uninstall or install program from the DM that will force my BB to reboot. I have tried soft boots and hard boots and the method with the DM is the only one that works..

Blue Tooth is a radio connection. You may have something in the area that is interferring with the BB.
Other BT devices, radio transmitters, RF devices. If you live in an apartment complex, maybe the next door tenant has something. Try to log where it happens and see if you have a pattern. Maybe then you can solve the issue.

Thanks.. I also wiped and reloaded my BB last night and haven't had that problem today. So far so good..

For anybody that saw this.. I found a work around. This thread Blackberry Reset gave me the opportunity to correct the problem.. Its not a total fix.. I haven't been able to localize the error. I have no bluetooth any where near the phone and it just switched profiles.. So, back to square one..

Does anyone think it would be worth it to call RIM on this?
