Default SonicWall 170 Settings

Please Login to Remove!

So I've got my BES Express up and running and I'm much happier now. However, emails are taking up to 10 minutes to get to my handheld. I've put a rule in the Sonicwall for port 3101 on TCP but I'm thinking something else in the Sonicwall could be causing a delay.

Anyone else with a 170 that can tell me if I missed anything? Thanks!

Our BES (not Express) is behind a Sonicwall 4060. I've opened port 3101 (TCP and UDP) for the BES and that's about all the customization we needed to do to the firewall.

I don't even think UDP was necessary, but we did it anyway.

What makes you think the Sonicwall is causing the bottleneck?

It's just a complete guess at this point. When I delete an email on the handheld, it immediately goes away on my desktop. It just seems to be delivery to my handheld that's delayed.

Its not the firewall. I had the same problem when I upgraded to 4.1. For the life of me, I can't remember what the problem turned out to be (Over a year ago). I called RIM and they figured it out. It was an issue on the BES though.

I remember it was irritating. It was acting like it was polling, not pushing.

Thanks ladydi. I guess I'll try and go through Blackberry. Do they charge for support?
