hey guys...quick question...i was playing around with some security settings and i briefly turned on content protection...then off again...not too sure what its effects were other than now all my buddies on bbmessenger have "content protection is enabled" as their status messages...and i cant get it to show what they really have...i even wiped and restored my berry. any ideas how i can get my messenger list to show the correct status messages again? thanks in advance for your help!

thats a good explanation of how it works...but its off now and now my buddies on bbmessenger all have that banner as their status message. thats what im trying to remove.

Is that what THEY are seeing as your status, or what you see on your BBM as their status?

when i first enabled content protection...it did it for BOTH their messages AND mine...including google talk....i changed the message and turned content protection off...and their messages on bbmessenger are still stuck at the content protection message. so right now after turning off CP and wiping the device and such (i did restore my backup with CP off) and it still sticks as their messages
