How do I restart my Blackberry Torch 9800 ?

I do not mean turning it ff and then on. When I delete an application, it asks me if I want to restart the device and if I say yes, it does so. It seems that procedure when it does so is different from just turning the device off and then back on.

Hard reset: With the power on, remove the battery for at least 30 seconds.

There are aftermarket apps that trigger a restart, but I have never seen the need for them, personally.

A device with a full keyboard can be rebooted by pressing alt-right caps-del. This sometimes is not as effective as a hard reset at correcting problems, however.

That is odd. I must remove the battery for 30 seconds to do a restart, the OS can do it through software, but there is no actual function of the OS for an end-user to do it through software.

Read my edit above.

This may also be helpful: How do I reset my BlackBerry - BlackBerryFAQ.

When the BlackBerry handset is acting strange, try a double soft reset before doing a battery pull.

ou can do a soft reset b pressing Alt + Right shift + DEL (<-) simultaneously. It's like a Cntl+Alt+Del on a PC.

Pulling the battery will fix most problems you will have. It is standard procedure and works.

If you don't believe aiharkness, devnull, or our FAQ, then you are on your own.
