Hello!

How much bandwidth does UMA require for a decent connection? I ask because my father just got a Curve and while it connects to his wifi with no problems, UMA service is terrible (as is UMA service on my Curve on his wifi).

At first I though it was a signal strength issue, so we added a WAP54G to his network... this increase his wifi signal but did not change the issue with UMA. That is when I started thinking that perhaps his internet connection was to blam. He has satellite broadband (the live in an area with no cable/dsl), which is terrible slow. At my house both of our phones work perfect with UMA, but I have a 15mb connection.

If it is in fact his internet connection, is there a way to disable UMA for a particular network? That way he can still browse the internet on his phone if he wanted too...

I have a 5mb cable package that has a 512k upload speed. I dedicate half (256k) of my upload bandwidth for my Curve when it is in use on the network. I haven't had any problems having 256 as my upload speed.

I would guess 30 kb/sec.

It seems like I've read that it needs around 128k.
