Question Listening to Audible (.aa) files ? help please

Please Login to Remove!

I hope someone can help me !!!

I have a number of Audible (.aa) audiobooks that I'd like to listen to on my Curve ... I tried downloading the audibleair, and transferring the files exactly the way Audible instructs HOWEVER !!!

YIKES ... when I launched audibleair to attempt to listen to the "local" audiobooks, it went online and started streaming the book instead - the local books will now show in the curve (the show when I plug into my PC though so I know they're there)

I don't have unlimited data - so my bill this month was crazy since I it took 3mgs worth of data to abort the streaming ... horrible horrible stuff !!

I've since removed the audibleair and I'm NOT reinstalling it - period.

Is there a way to listen to .aa files without using audible air?? or is there a free conversion program that will let me take .aa files and make them mp3s ?

Sorry this was long winded ... but I'm just really frustrated and upset about this
Help?

I download books on computer then.

With a memory card I just plug curve into computer, which seems card as removeable
drive, copy aa files to card and use audile program to just listen to it on my curver.

Read on line about setting up mem card to put files in right place for air audialbe to play them.

removeable drive -> music -> audible(correct)

blackberry ->music-> audible (WRONG)

covered in How do I transfer my Audible Content to my storage card for my Blackberry?

Is there a way to disable audibleair from accessing the internet (thus making it a "local only" player ... I installed the files exactly as you mentioned, and it still didn't work - and would autolaunch to the website which with 4mg/ month data is NOT something I can afford for it to do

I'm usually really quite good with this stuff ... which is why it's so frustrating !

thanks
