Default Email/Data Help

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I did a search and could not find anything.

I have the Blackberry Storm 9530 on the Verizon Network with software version 4.7.0.148.

I am going on Vacation in a few days to Mexico and I was told by Verizon that my Blackberry will work there but the data is expensive to use. Right now I have 4 email addresses that get pushed to my phone and I was wondering how I can stop that from happening while I am on vacation. Is it possible to change a setting somewhere or will I just have to delete them and set them up when I return? Also, are there any other settings that I should turn off while I am there so the phone isn't using the data?

I appreciate all the help!!

Thanks,
Rich

Wirelessly posted

You can do either what he suggested - Data Services OFF or Off when Roaming since your leaving the country you will be in a 'roaming state' but to avoid the trouble and be sure. Select off.

Be careful, the calls can get pretty expensive as well!

As a Mexican / American familiar with travel there. I encourage you not to take your Storm.

Cheap GSM / quad band phone does wonders and you can either go the calling card route or pay for in country cellular services. Either way they are cheap, and you can talk nightly for very reasonable rates.

If you don't need portability and just want to make landlines, get yourself some calling card action at the local stores and use your room phone.

I am always too drunk to worry about cellular calls while out and about.
