Default Is GPS disabled for everything?

Please Login to Remove!

For example, when I go into bing and try to get it to find my location it tells me to switch my GPS to Location on. I've done that and saved it and even tried to reboot the phone. It just keeps telling me to switch to location on. Thanks

From what I understand, GPS is NOT disabled on the 9550.

Do this:

On all model BlackBerrys, first make certain that you in an area of good signal coverage AND outside with a clear view of the sky in an open area of no tall buildings.

On your CDMA model BlackBerry, do this:
Go to the Options icon > Status
From the Status screen, on the keyboard type "test" (without the quote marks!). You will need to press the Menu key > Show keyboard.
You will see a Device Self Test Screen. Click the Menu Key and choose Start. You will a list of tests. The bottom test should be GPS, check it and click Menu > Run. Be sure GPS location is turned on. Go outside with no obstructions or tall buildings around or above you. click the trackball and click start fixing. is should do a test. let it do its thing and it should tell you a location coordinates.

You might need to do this 2-3 times.

FYI - I have found I have to be outside or very close to a window for the GPS features to work well on my Storm. Even inside my car I have to hold the phone near the dash to get good functioning.
