I have a user that lost his (7100v) handset in Dubai, got a replacement and set up all fine, just been informed the pain in the **** has now found his 7100v and wants it working again, trouble is he's still in dubai. Is there an easy way to switch back ? Ie. change the Pin on the server perhaps ? The less the user has to do in Dubai the better as he can just about manage to turn the thing on let alone get to wipe the handeset.
Can i add him as a new user maybe ? I have his original Pin number ?
I guess my question is can this all be done easily - wirelessly ?
His handset is V4.0 an i'm running desktop manager v4.0
If he has his desktop, and it has the DM installed he can do a device switch. If not, then remove him from the BES and re-add his account and have him do an Enterprise Activation. You'll have to provide him with an activation password, something simple, like a one or two letter word. The BES will pickup the PIN # automatically when the device authenticates.
EA is only possible if the BES is v4.0 and the device code is v4.0.
