Default Hosed up 8820

I have a really hosed up 8820. I downloaded the most current OS and was ready to load it but the Blackberry is Password protected and I don't know the password. Is there anything I can do to get this Blackberry working again, or should this thing be scrapped?

Enter the code incorrectly 10 times and it will wipe itself. Is this a phone that you purchased or found?

It's a company phone that broke. We got a replacement and I found it here. The blackberry does not boot up, just the light comes one for a couple of seconds and then off. When I connect to the computer and try to reload the OS, can't because it ask for a password but I don't know it. Can't do the 10 times trick with it.
