Default Time zone change

Is there a way to get my 7250 to automatically know which time zone I'm in? My provider says the only way is to manually change the time zone when I travel.

Depending on the OS version of your handheld, but yes, it should get the time from the provider. However, it does not automatically change the time zone for you. Guess RIM thinks this is a feature that we want! Maybe it makes sense for calendar entries? Not really sure their reasoning...

As far as I know, the device can not tell what Time Zone you are in. It can pull the local time off a cell tower but it will not update the Time Zone. You can also turn the feature off if you dont want it to update the time from the Cellular network. Oh and not all hh software versions even have that option.

I asked this question when we were first issued our BB. The Nextel Rep told me that for our units, the time zones and time would not change like our other Nextel phones. The unit does not pull the time from the tower but does pull it from your computer / BES. Not sure about other providers.
