Default BES - Urgent Help

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I have got a BES Server v4.1.6.13

It has been working perfectly for a long time with 35 users, but this morning 34 of the Blackberries stopped making contact.

1 is still working, but I don't know why the others have stopped.

Can anyone help?

Did you try restarting it?

Are there errors in the logs?

What mail server?

Hi

Thanks everyone for your quick replies.

The devices cannot browse the internet, nor do any 3rd party apps work.

The SRP is connected fine.

Using Exchange 2003 and nothing has changed on the server. The service account is still active also.

Cannot find anything in the logs, but which log file should i be most interested in?

Thanks

are those 34 devices all on the same carrier? Could be some kind of outage.

Yeah, we had our vendor offer us to upgrade to a new data plan for a lot less money. It was pushed through and the next day all of the phones stopped working. Turns out they switched to a BIS internet plan - had to have them all switch back.

Thanks
If they have no data connection, they cannot talk to the BES. You need to get your hands on one of the afflicted devices and start troubleshooting the data connection.

Pull the battery and make sure it says EDGE or EVDO of NXTL under the signal bar. with so many affected, I would suspect that somehow your data plans got removed or there is an outage situation. Are they all the same carrier? If at least one device is working, I don't think it is the BES.

Agree with ladydi. Removal of BES package has happened to some of my users. Call the carrier and it's a mystery, but it happens. Good luck, sounds like a real pain in the rear...
