Arrow Is The BlackBerry Bold Right for Me?

Please Login to Remove!

EDIT I MEANT STORM NOT BOLD**

I would like some advice if people think this is the right phone for me.

I want a new phone that can do email, web, gps and all that fancy stuff, I really like touch screen phones, I want a phone that will last many years (3-5), I want a pretty good camera/videocamera built in the phone (my current phone is 0.5 mp), and I want to be able to organize my life with it. The organization thing is what brought me right to blackberry. I have never owned a blackberry before, but my impression is that it is a great organizer. I am currently a grade 12 student and I hope to use this phone all through University.

So is this phone for me? (I'm willing to pay several hundred because I will get 2-3 year contract.)

Thanks in advance!

Mark

From what you described, a BlackBerry will work for you. However the Bold is not touchscreen. The BlackBerry Storm/Thunder is.

BlackBerry devices are very durable. I would recommend a good screen cover and a solid case to help protect and maintain the device.

Others will surely chime in with suggestions and welcome to the forums.

Sounds like it will work for you. It's Verizon (only), so make sure they work where you live. It'll be at least $300 with a 2 year contract, and probably at least $80/month. That'll get you a state of the art Blackberry on a very good network. Email, IM, good camera, video, mp3, all the goodies and what's supposed to be a far better touchscreen than the iPhone has. I'm gonna get one myself. If you're a college student BUY INSURANCE. Don't even think about it.

TheBigNewt, Congrats on 1,000 posts. Actually the device is exclusive to Verizon in the States. It is being released on Vodafone, Telus and other carriers internationally.

I live in Canada so I will be getting it on Telus.

Will I really have to pay $80/month?

I was hoping to pay around $50...

I won't need very many minutes. I just text alot.
