It's a real shame, I'm on PAYG so data charges are excessive, and unnecessary if only there were the right software.
Another FYI: there is a little-known free java navigator still in the early stages called We-Travel (can't post links, but it's at we-travel.co.cc). At the moment it still doesn't work on blackberrys, but the coder has been implementing support recently...there is a thread relating to this on the forum.
So still hopeful for future developments!
