So with the great economy that the US is having right now, I lost my job and can no longer afford my BlackBerry. So I called AT&T today and dropped all my unlimited stuff so I have just a bare bones voice plan. I would now like to sell my BB, but I would like to do a master delete and get rid of any trace that I ever owned it.
What exactly is the BIS accounts. I tried to log-on to the BB website to clear them out, and it said that is was locked because I had already terminated the e-mail part with AT&T.
I just did the wipe and it seems that cleared EVERYTHING (which is good.)
Now for the BIS stuff. I just have to call and ask to delete me from it? What does BIS even stand for? I don't want to sound like a dummy when I have to call these people up.
BIS is BlackBerry Internet Service. It's used to setup your email accounts. If you had email being pushed to the device, you will need to have your carrier release the device from your BIS account or whoever receives the device will not be able to setup their email account on this device.
Alright, thanks. When I was on the phone with the AT&T service person yesterday, and I asked if e-mails would still be pushed to the phone and she said no. So I will just call to confirm that it has been deleted so I can sell it.
