I am a single user in our small company and we host SBS 2003 exchange locally in our office, our IT guy has been trying to get the free version of the BES installed on our server for more than two weeks now. Can the free single user version of BES work with SBS 2003, on the same box?

My IT guy said,"At the database setup the BES won't connect to the SQL." Please help me I am dieN.

Yes, it does work, I recently installed this 2 weeks ago.

During the installation, MSDE2000 will/should be installed. Or, you can specify an already installed instance of an MSDE/SQL database.

What happens during the setup ?

Ok, silly observation but it was my "gotcha" when i first installed SBE, the definition for the database needs the full SQL instance, PCNAME\SQLInstance, even if the SQL in on the same box.
