Default LED flashing purple?!

Please Login to Remove!

Hey

I have had my blackberry for a while now so im use to the functions and how to work it.

However the other day i uploaded an update for my BB messenger as prompted when i clicked on to the messenger.

It uploaded fine but since then, it keeps flashing a lilac light every 10 seconds which is sooo annoying as it overides my usual red light to notify me of a new message.

I powered it off and on but it still does it.

Can anyone suggest how i can get rid of it please?!

Purple? Could it in fact be blue, as in bluetooth?

Ok, it's purple.

Are you using bluetooth? Go into manage connections and see if bluetooth is checked. Or look for the bluetooth icon on your screen. If it is enabled, disable it. See what happens.

Do you have any third party alert apps installed such as BeBuzz?

Wirelessly posted

Perhaps it's glitch with that app, even though you believe you've turned it off?

What about a hard reset?

What about deleting that app, as a test?

According to RIM, the purple led is an indication of the BB being switch into
Bluetooth pairing mode. I never knew it would do purple.

Is that a change, or that way -- "purple" -- all along?

It's always looked blue to me.

Agreed, mine is Blue also but their support site states purple. I never knew it would do anything except Blue or Red. The support is in relation to the Blackberry 500 bluetooth type headset so maybe some will show purple when pairing. Maybe one of his APPs is causing this as Motorcycle Mama stated.
