I'm a sysadmin at a company and handle some Blackberry tasks sometimes. I transferred a device from a user who was laid off to a new employee. The SIM card was changed and the device even has a new phone number. But the new user is still seeing emails come in for the old employee's personal Yahoo email account (he must have set up a rule in Yahoo to forward to his company email). The old employee's company email account has also been deleted.

How do I stop the old employee's Yahoo mail from being delivered to the device?

I assume this device is on BIS? If so, then it sounds like the previous employee's BIS account needs to be closed and a new one established for the new employee.

What is happening is that the PIN and IMEI are still associated with the previous employee's account.

What is BIS? Are you referring to a Blackberry Enterprise Server or something else? The new user is on a Blackberry Enterprise Server and the old user has been deleted from it. Our company plans are also going through ATT (if that matters).

Oh. So the old and new user is on BES?

DubDub is correct.

It doesn't matter if the SIM was replaced, the number has changed etc. The personal email is attached to the device's PIN. With a BES data plan, you can still add up to 10 personal email addresses (unless blocked by an IT policy).

The previous user set up an account on AT&T's BIS page to have their Yahoo mail pushed to the device.

You will need to contact AT&T and ask them to remove the BIS account from the device's PIN number.
