The track ball of my bold 9000 is not working properly. i need to press it hard to select option. also can someone tell me how to clean the trackball in case of dust it it cause i do not want to open it ......Waiting for the right reply

I use a product called Cyber Clean. Works great. Try holding your bb upside down while flicking the ball it may help.

I was afraid to take my trackball out to clean it, but after trying a number of cleaning products and cleaning methods, I finally gave up and took it apart using the instructions on youtube. Piece of cake. I had a relatively large amount of dust under mine that I don't believe any cleaning product would have worked.

Worked OK after cleaning it, but decided that since it was so easy, and trackballs so cheap, I would just replace the trackball.

why don't you go over to cnn.cn and get a new one? you can also get a custom bezel and they'll show you how to do it xx

Buy an eyeglass cleaner kit. This usually consists of a cleaning solution in a small spray or pump bottle and a microfiber cloth. Spray some solution on the cloth and rub it on the trackball, moving it in all directions. I find that this works pretty well.

Turn the device off. Press and hold the trackball in and roll first in the direction that it doesn't work and then in all directions for at least a minute. Turn the BB back on and see if it works.

Also, press the ball in and blow some "caned air" all around.

To clean, dip a q-tip in alcohol and rub the ball.

And learn how to use the SEARCH feature. this has been discussed many times.
