Appworld is flakey. For what it's worth, I was unable to log in and even though I was sure I was entering the right password I went ahead and did the password reset. I don't rememner it exactly now, but I think I ran into the same error message before the reset finally took, and I was still unable to log in for the better part of a day.
All I can advise is try the reset every hour or so until it works, and give it a reasonable time for things to sort out on their own. If it isn't working still after half a day, call your service provider.
