Default Anyway to share Peer to Peer encryption between BES's?

Please Login to Remove!

To All:

I manage about 190 BlackBerrys (7100 & 7290's) and am using GW & BES 4.0.3 (hotfix 3). I appreciate the tips that you all have shared.

Here is a question that I have no solution on yet...

I am wondering if there is a way to share the encryption for Peer-to-Peer (pin-to-pin) between different BES's. If you turn on encryption, you can only pin those on the same BES as you. Wondering if you could give the key to another BES so you can have encryption but still pin other BlackBerrys that are on other BES's.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Tony

If the BES servers share the same database, it will be done automatically.

Reviving an old thread here...

So if you turn on "Update Peer-to-Peer Encryption Key" this will essentially create you a "corporate" based key that will only allow your BES users to pin each other solely?

IE: BES-user A can only PIN BES-user B. BES-user A and BES-user B cannot PIN anyone not on their BES server.

Is this correct? Kinda like MAC address filtering if you ask me.

Yes, if you don't Update the P2P key, then you can PIN anyone else with the default key, globally. Once you update it it will only work with devices in that same SQL DB.
