It is up on the website and I called to upgrade with the VIP program. She offered me a price of 399 with a two year. I asked for the 100 online discount and she said she would check. Then came back on the line and said that it is listed at not yet avaialble and said she would call back when that changed. So close, yet so far.

Since there are so many similarities in the 8700c vs. 8703e, it boils down to service.

Verizon gets better marks in NYC than Cingular (Verizon gets better marks everywhere).

Yes.

Were you able to do it under your existing number/plan (as I need to do)?

Yes, the option is available in the web-ordering process, but I did not select that option.

I'm leaving Cingular for this, so I didn't need to upgrade from a different Verizon plan.

However, I need North America's choice (Canada and Mexico). You can't order that on-line, you just have to order something on-line and make the change on the phone when you get your BB.

There is a good chance that this order will get canceled or not processed at all.

Default How to add Ev-Do to BB 8703

I've got the Verizon Unlimited Blackbery/mobile web plan, $44.99/month. What do you need to do, to add Ev-DO or is it automatically rolled in. I can 't imagine Verizon giving it away

What do you do, to add the EV-DO plan to your new 8703?

Also, is anybody using the bluetooth, to mobile print to your printer in a car wirelessly. IF so, what printer are you using? I could use this big time, to print faxes I get on the berry, while I'm rollin down the highway.

My 7750 filed a "Notice of Dissolution" today, think it knows something?

You can only port a number over from another carrier when ordering the 8703e, as it won't let you trnasfer an existing Verizon number to the 8703e. This is very frustrating, but Verizon does this all the time with their new equipment. You just have to order it on Sunday, create a new number, and then when you receive the 8703e, call them to activate the phone and explain to them that you didn't want a new number, but wanted instead to transfer your existing. Shouldn't be a problem.

Also, I don't expect the 8703e to be an upgrade option when logging into your verizon account on Sunday. Another frustrating Verizon tactic. New equipment doesn't seem to hit their upgrade pages until later on for some reason. Who knows, maybe I'll be wrong this time, let's hope!

My 2 Cents

Try verizonwirelessdotcomslashmerits (I can't yet post links) to see if you qualify for the Merits program. I think if you click on register it will then tell you if you qualify or not. I did qualify so I am not sure what happens if you do not. I don't think you get free activation, but you do get "the early equipment upgrade available every 12 months, get a free address book transfer anytime you change equipment, receive 25% off accessories anytime online or in our Verizon Wireless Stores, and receive various online benefits."

yep, i hear ya, and although they'll give you the opportunity to upgrade early, they'll still have a list of equipment to upgrade to that won't contain the 8703e come Sunday morning. Again, I hope I'm proven wrong this time, but I'm not counting on it.

Unhappy

I just called a local store in Phoenix and he told me that the 8703 release was being pushed back to the end of the year.

The Verizon salespeople in their stores are usually the last people on earth to know about any new equipment, especially when it comes to Blackberries. Chances are, they're confused!!
