Default Got Yahoo IM working on 8700c

Please Login to Remove!

Not sre if this has been done yet but I figured out a way to get the yahoo messenger to work... I took another blackberry I have here at work and did a selective backup of the service book (I deleted all out of thehandheld first except the yahoo, they will come back on it after) I then pluged my8700c in and restored that service book, then when I rebooted all of my Cingualr books came back and yahoo is still working! Now I dont have to pay for a third party app.

Yup yup, indeed. There're detailed instructions in another thread, just created it earlier today. =)

Take a look right here:

Many thanks, Tom, for helping confirm this information. =)

I tried Yahoo IM just the other day. Out of curiosity I called Cingular and asked them if I was being charged for the IM's. He said that I would be charged $0.10/message! Needless to say I was irritated to say the least!! Has anyone else run into being charged for IM's? I thought that it was all data. If I'm paying $80.00/mo I really don't think I should have to cough up extra cash just to IM.

depending on which yahoo IM programs you use... the one from Oz uses TEXT messages. may be user should read the fine print or manual before install it?

I just checked my plan. I am showing I have Tesxt msg. included and the cost per month is $0.00!

So it seems to be included with my plan...(or they screwed up)
