For example, when i sign in to this site, go to General Discussion and look quickly at all posts on the page, i have no idea which posts that I have posted in.(i did initially b/c i didnt participate that much). Most forums have a different icon(HoFo has an envelope with a hole in it) to signify that i have a post in that thread.

Yea, there are icons for that here as well, go to general discussion or any forum and scrolll to the very bottom of the page, it states them on the left hand side.

You can always use the topic author as a point of reference for your posts? That will always have your name no matter who contributes to the thread. That's what I've started doing...

Still, it's a good point daryl.com raises. While I like to read through everything on the forum, at times I only have time for a quick look. In those instances, I would like to follow up on those threads in which I have participated personally. On HoFo and on PDAStreet, the normal icon has a big black dot in the middle if I have personally participated in the thread. Just a shorthand way to keep track of my priorities...
Tom, does this make sense? Is it possible?

That's a good point kirson I forgot about that feature myself, as kirson stated "is that possible Tom" would be a nice add to the site!

I wish you could upload images here
I use the feature which on the main page says:
View your posts.
Top right corner right above the forum ;)

I guess i could do that but i could also write down the subject line of every post that i make. I was simply suggesting a popular feature be added to this forum..Thanks. PS. I wish you could upload images here as well.

Strange -- since this is a feature on so many forums, I'm sure there is a way to add it without too much brain damage. I'll look around a bit, and see if I can find a reference or "how to" site. If someone else knows how to activate such a feature, please post the answer here.
Thanks,
Ian

I know it's possible with phpBB. I've ran them before in the past (2+yrs ago) and the feature was available then. I'll check on some of my old sites and see if I can find any info on it.

Wouldn't it be like a 'subscribtion' to the particular thread. I run vBuletin on one of my stations websites and you can enable viewing of subscriptions.
Maybe you can search that down on phpbb???
Jeff
